도(道)와 덕(德) 은 생활법 이다.

“Doe” and “Doek” is gain virtue to obtain a quality way of life.

그러나!

멀리서 찾으려말고, 가까이 생활에서 찾아야 한다.

머리로만 찾지말고, 온몸으로 찾아야 한다.

But!

People think that the answer to life is very far away but it is actually inside you.

Only memorizing is not enough, you must practice the lessons with your actions for them to be valuable.

중국의 대 문장가요, 정치가인 “백낙천” 이라는 사람이 조과선사를 찾아와 다짜고짜 “도(道)와 덕(德)” 이 무었이냐고 물었을때,

In China, Beak Nak Chun was a great author and politician. He went to Grand Master Cho Kwa Sun Sa and asked him what does Doe and Doek mean?

선사는(중선봉행 제악막작) 하라 이른다. 즉 “착한일을 받들어 행하고, 악한 일을 하지말라” 는 뜻이다.

Sun Sa said (Jung-sun bong-hang, je-ak mak jak).That means Do good things and do not do bad things.

백낙천 은 [무슨 특별한 법이라도 있나 했더니 별거 없군!

그런소린 세살먹은 어린 아이도 다 아는 말이요] 라며 실망하여 돌아선다.

Beak Nak Chun said that he thought doe and doek had a very special meaning and he was disappointed with Sun Sa's reply. He told Sun Sa that even a three year old child knows that so he turned to leave in disappointment.

돌아서가는 뒤통수에 선사는 일갈 한다. {이놈아! 세살먹은 어린애도 알지만 백살 먹은 늙은이도 행 하긴 어렵다}

After Beak Nak Chun turned to leave, Sun Sa said Hey you! Even a three year old child knows but it is difficult for even a hundred year old man to do it.

백낙천 은 돌아서서 선사 앞에 무릎 끊는다.

Beak Nak Chun immediately turned around and kneeled down before Sun Sa.

“도(道)와 덕(德)”앓음 앓음이 글장난, 말장난 이 아니고 깨침이며, 해탈이고, 계합이고, 생활이니 바로 이 행(行為) 에 있다는 말이다.

Doe and Doek is not like play writing or play talking it is knowing truth through practice and gain virtue to obtain a quality way of life.

We cannot only memorize but it must be active in our life.

알면서도 행동으로 실천하기 어려운 평범한 진리! 사랑하는 아들, 딸, 그리고 제자들 과 함께 공부하고,수양하며,배우고,깨닳는 자세로 가르쳤던, 마음을 밝혀주는 보배같은 글 일상생활에 큰 도움이 될것이라 확신 하며 웹 사이트에 다시 옮겨 적어 보기로 한다.
